How we work

From an idea to an agreed plan.

An interior is made of many small decisions. We keep them together, so you don't have to hold them all.

Discuss your project

The working process

The decisions, in order.

  1. Understand the project.

Tell us what you need, where it is going and what you already have. A description, room photos or a product list can start the review; drawings and a BOQ are useful when available. We consider a single custom item as well as larger packages, including the economics of packing and transport.

What we agree or recordA starting scope and the next information needed.

  2. Agree the scope & quotation.

We identify the products, supply model and coordination work included. The quotation sets out the specifications, payment stages, inclusions and items still to confirm. Detailed design or additional coordination is quoted before that work begins.

What we agree or recordAn itemised scope, quotation and responsibility list.

  3. Approve the drawing & materials.

We coordinate drawing development, supplier questions, finishes and hardware for the agreed package. Your local team confirms site measurements and installation conditions. Samples and the current drawing version are approved before production is released.

What we agree or recordConfirmed specifications, samples and drawing revisions.

  4. Follow production & check the details.

We follow the agreed production plan and record issues that need a decision. The inspection scope, sampling method and number of visits are agreed in advance. Checks are documented and differences are followed through; specialist testing is arranged separately where required.

What we agree or recordProgress updates, inspection records and agreed corrective actions.

  5. Prepare packing & shipment.

We coordinate product identification, packing and consolidation where appropriate. The transport route, insurance arrangements, handling costs and delivery terms are confirmed for the destination. Shipment timing is agreed around actual product readiness and logistics arrangements.

What we agree or recordPacking lists, shipment arrangements and the agreed handover.

  6. Support the handover.

Your destination team handles the agreed local receiving and installation work. If a problem is reported, we review photographs, product references and the relevant records to agree the next action, including repair or replacement coordination where applicable.

What we agree or recordReceiving information and a documented issue-follow-up route.

How payment works

  1. 01

    Deposit to start

A deposit of USD 1,000–5,000, depending on the project, confirms your order and starts the drawings.

  2. 02

    50% before production

Before production begins, payments reach 50% of the order value.

  3. 03

    Balance before loading

The remaining 50% is paid before your goods are loaded into the container. Packing photos are shared first.

The deposit is included in the 50% payment before production. Payments are made by bank transfer (T/T) to the account named on your proforma invoice. Always confirm bank details by phone or video call before paying.

Planning your programme

A practical timing reference.

Drawings & sample confirmation
Allow 7–14 days to work through layouts, finish choices and approvals.
Custom production in Foshan
Typically 30–45 days after final drawings and samples are approved, depending on materials, quantities and complexity.
Packing & freight
Scheduled around production readiness and your destination. We confirm the shipment plan and transit estimate separately.

How the work is priced

The right model for each part.

We confirm the model and the fee treatment with the scope. There is no single public rate that fits every project.

For defined custom products

Managed Supply

NOVARTE provides a supply quotation for the agreed products, with the specified drawing coordination, production follow-up and checks included in that scope.

The product and agreed coordination are quoted together.

For selected furniture & materials

Transparent Sourcing

Supplier prices and our sourcing service fee are shown separately. The items we manage, checks, consolidation work and any third-party costs are identified before work starts.

For a mixed project package

Hybrid

Custom cabinetry may use Managed Supply, while selected furniture or materials use Transparent Sourcing. The model is identified for each part of the package.

Each part has a clear model, scope and cost treatment.

Across borders, clear responsibilities

One project. Two sides of the handover.

Our work in China

  • Supplier and specification coordination for the agreed items.
  • Drawing questions, version control and production follow-up.
  • The agreed checks, packing and shipment coordination.
  • Documented follow-up when an issue needs attention.

Your destination team

  • Confirmed site dimensions and installation conditions.
  • Local approvals and product requirements relevant to the project.
  • Import arrangements, taxes, receiving and local installation, as agreed.
  • Site photographs and details needed to review a reported issue.

For Australia, we work with a local measuring team and local project partners; cabinets are factory-assembled before shipping for faster on-site fitting. Partner installation teams or travelling factory installers can be arranged by agreement, with team, scope, fees and travel or visa conditions confirmed for each project. Your builder can also work from our drawings and room-labelled packages. We plan freight, receiving requirements and any specialist documentation with your team before ordering.

Before we begin

A few useful answers.

Can I start without drawings?

Yes. Tell us about the item or room, your destination and your current stage. A reference image, room photo or simple list is useful. We identify which measurements or drawings are needed for the next stage, rather than asking for a complete design before the first conversation.

Do I need to purchase a design package first?

No. Start with a free feasibility review, initial budget guidance and available real material videos. A defined product list can move into a supply quotation. Where your project needs detailed drawings or a BOQ, we explain the deliverables and agree the scope and fee before starting.

Can you help with one custom furniture piece?

We can review it. Dimensions, materials, packing, destination and coordination work all affect whether a single item is practical to source from China. Share the piece and destination so we can assess the route rather than assume that every single-item order is suitable.

What happens if the scope changes?

We record the new request and confirm any effect on cost, drawings and timing before proceeding. Additional products or coordination work are priced separately when needed. Correcting an error in our own work is not treated as a customer-requested scope change.
